Western Bulldogs Football ClubNEW contract announcements are coming out thick and fast this week and the Western Bulldogs have joined in on the action announcing a new deal with Tom Liberatore that will see him remain with the club trough at least until the end of the of 2016 season.

The three-year contract extension is a deserving reward for the gun midfielder who has had a an excellent season for the Bulldogs.

“We see Tom as an important part of our midfield and look forward to seeing him continue to develop and grow at the Western Bulldogs,“ said club List Manager Jason McCartney.

“Tom has had an impressive first 50 games, and is becoming a more balanced player as he continues to gain more experience.”

“He has a rich family history here at our Club, and we are pleased he can continue that over the next three years at least.”

Liberatore, 21, joined the club as the 40th selection in the 2010 National Draft as a father-son selection, after the Sydney Swans nominated their intention to draft him with their first-round pick (pick 21) if available. The Bulldogs got a bargain in retrospect but it almost came unstuck after Liberatore was suspended by the club last year fo his off-field behaviour.

That suspension seems to have been the wake-up call that the midfielder needed.

“It has been a dream to play at a Club I love and alongside my mates for the past three years,” Liberatore said.

“I look forward to contributing to the team as best as I can over the next three years, and being part of an exciting journey at the Western Bulldogs.”
