THE Fremantle Dockers have announced that ruckman Zac Clarke has signed a two year contract extension that will see him remain with the club through to the end of the 2015 season.
Clarke, 23, was the 37th selection of the 2008 National Draft and made his debut for the club in Round 13 of the 2009 season against Collingwood. He has now played in 40 games for the Dockers.
With ongoing injuries to Aaron Sandilands Clarke’s main role this year has been as the team’s lead ruckman since his own return from injury against Sydney.
“We’ve been very pleased with Zac’s development,” said Fremantle’s General Manager of Player Management, Brad Lloyd.
“He’s been very solid since returning to the team this season and he has performed well in the ruck in the absence of Aaron Sandilands and Jon Griffin. We’re very happy to have him stay at Fremantle.”
For his own part Clarke is thrilled with both his new deal as well as the opportunity to continue his development under senior coach Ross Lyon.
“To get to play another two years under Ross and with the boys, I’m stoked,” said Clarke.
Fremantle will play North Melbourne at Patersons Stadium this Sunday afternoon.
